Natasha and Shane’s wedding at Wick Farm in Bath was an amazing one to be a part of – how could a Glastonbury themed wedding not be fun? …And this one involved a combination of Aussies and Brits plus a special celebrity guest! When I photographed them earlier in the year for their pre-wedding shoot they told me about their plans in more detail and on the day I met up with Natasha and her bridesmaids at a B&B in Bath before heading over to Wick Farm (a venue I’m more than used to shooting now but it looks different each time as couples personalise it so well.) Both Natasha and Shane were controlling the wedding morning nerves very well, they were really calm and organised. Even a slight hiccup with one of the wedding cars didn’t seem to phase them. The ceremony was wonderful with two readings and vows written by the couple themselves – not just your ‘average’ personal vows but really well thought out, meaningful vows that gave such an insight in to their relationship and values. The best vows I’ve witnessed actually, they were really special. After the ceremony we headed to a nearby castle for their couple’s photos which made a nice change and then back to Wick Farm for their wedding breakfast BBQ, speeches (an excellent and lively speech from Shane’s father by the way) and cutting of their fabulous cake baked by none other than ‘Great British Bake Off’ finalist Tamal – my personal favourite from the recent series. To say I was excited about this is a slight understatement – I like to think I showed some dignity and self control but I’m not sure I did! I got to photograph the cake and have my photo taken with Tamal though so I was happy. As a music festival was the theme of the wedding Natasha and Shane chose The Moon Loungers as their wedding band – how could they choose anyone else? As usual The Moon Loungers performed brilliantly and guests had a wonderful time on the dance floor. Thank you so very much for choosing me as your wedding photographer Natasha and Shane – I wish you both every happiness in your lives together.
