Dan and Laura’s winter wedding at the Great Tythe Barn was a delight to photograph. Winter weddings can be the most difficult to shoot due to low light levels but their day was filled with gorgeous winter sunshine and blue skies – the exact weather they told me they were hoping for when we first met. The great thing about the venue they selected is both the groom and bridal prep takes places on the same site in different cottages so it’s really easy to get photographs of both group’s preparations. Laura looked amazing in her beautiful dress and Dan looked quite nervous before the ceremony but had great support from his three brothers who were also his ‘best men’. It’s great to see couples relax once the ceremony part of the day is over and these two thoroughly enjoyed themselves – so many smiles and so much laughter it was lovely to witness. I really think all weddings should have a father of the bride like Laura’s dad – such an expressive face, I had a blast photographing him throughout the day! After a lovely meal by caterers ‘Dine with Style’ it was onto the speeches with some very moving and heartfelt words which bought tears to many eyes that day. The children enjoyed some sparklers outside then The Moon Loungers (probably my favourite local wedding band – and I’ve heard a few!) got the party in full swing. Laura & Dan, thanks so much for inviting me to be part of your special day, I wish you such a long and happy marriage together!
Here’s a few of my favourites from the day below. Friends and family of Laura & Dan are invited to view the full gallery here.
