Autumn is a wonderful time for a family photography session, not so cold that you need to bundle up with hats, scarves and gloves like in a winter shoot and those autumn colours are just beautiful as a backdrop especially with a little sunshine through them. I met up with Kate, Nick and their two children Alex and William for a portrait session in Bath. The City of Bath is a great location for portrait photography offering a varied look from historical architecture aswell as modern day urban environments to green spaces and river side areas.
As we walked we chatted about life with a young family, any of you with small children will know the daily challenges! I have children of a similar age to Kate’s two and it’s been a real struggle at times but actually I think I’ve had it easy compared to them. This shoot marked the ‘start’ to family life for the four of them as William’s medical condition has meant a lot of his life so far has been in a hospital, forcing Kate and Nick to live separately for a while to properly care for their two children’s differing needs whilst juggling work and other commitments. A very tough year for them but it was lovely to see Kate, Nick, Alex and William as a family of four properly together now and document this in a set of happy images for them.
I offer natural and relaxed family portraits in Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas. To see more of my work you can view my Family Portfolio or browse my Blog.
