Here’s a few of my favourites from the recent pre-wedding shoot of Elena and Jonathan in the City of Bath. As I live near Bath it’s a location I’m used to using for photo shoots but there’s so many lovely parks, streets and buildings that it’s easy to find somewhere new each time to add to my preferred places. Shooting in a new place tends to create the best work as it really makes me think creatively about the space. So many Brides choose to book photographers because they’ve photographed a wedding at their chosen venue before but I do think it should be the opposite way around. I like the familiarity of venues I’ve shot at before, don’t get me wrong, but I love the creative challenge of a new location even more. Anyway, back to Elena and Jonathan, a lovely couple to work with which made it easy to build a good rapport with them – which regular readers of my blog will know is the key to the images I make. If couples don’t trust you they won’t let their guard down you see and the shots will be stiff and unnatural. Elena and Jonathan’s wedding is going to be great fun to shoot next year and I can’t wait…
I offer relaxed and natural portrait and wedding photography in the Cities of Bath & Bristol and the surrounding areas. To see more of my work check out my blog or view my wedding portfolio.
