Well, what a beautiful wedding Katherine & Charles had at St Thomas a Becket Church in Widcombe, Bath followed by a marquee reception at Kingscote Park (owned by the Matara Centre) near Tetbury, Gloucestershire. I started the day at Katherine’s parent’s house where the girls were getting ready, the anticipation and excitement building and much talk of the glorious blue skies and sunshine that had arrived for the day. Katherine looked incredibly elegant in her beautiful fitted gown with intricate lace detailing and her bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their dresses too. The house is just a short walk from the church and with the fine weather the girls made their way to the chuch on foot. Charles and the guests were already waiting inside in anticipation of the arrival of the Bride and the church was absolutely packed full that day. After a lovely ceremony, during which Katherine’s sister sang a song for the couple (yes, I couldn’t help it, it did bring a tear to my eye!), it was time for the Bride and Groom to exit in style in a powder blue E Type Jaguar as guests waved them off to Kingscote Park. The gardens around Kingscote House are serene, very pretty and looked amazing in the sunshine, the perfect backgdrop for a drinks reception. The speeches were great, particularly the best man’s speech which helped me to get some great shots, I love to capture people laughing and the marquee was full of them! Shortly after the meal it was time for the first dance, the lights of the marquee twinkled and Katherine & Charles were then joined on the dance floor by family and friends – a group of very enthusiastic dancers with some unique moves in their repertoire! Katherine & Charles – yours was a very special wedding and I’m so pleased to have witnessed and documented your big day, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
