Caroline and Grant’s was a wedding I was very much looking forward to photographing. Their ceremony was at St Mary’s Church in Swainswick, Bath and their reception at Winsley Village Hall. They are a lovely couple and planned this wedding to be a relaxed and friendly affair with lots of homemade elements such as paper flowers, bunting and an excellent wedding cake made by Caroline’s sister. I like to think my documentary wedding photography style was a good match for Caroline and Grant’s celebration in Bath. They were graced with lovely weather for the day, the Swainwick views looked breathtaking and the church ceremony was marvellous. In my line of work I see a lot of wedding ceremonies but Rev Joyce Williams really did a great job on this one. You could tell just how much she was personally rooting for this couple, her words were so sincere it really made the church service very special for all involved. Caroline’s brother sang a song and Grant’s sister did a reading – it’s good to get family involved I think. After that it was time to head off to the village hall where champagne and canapés welcomed the guests on arrival and people soon settled into the garden space to enjoy the sun and watch the bowls tournament going on next door. Staff from Yammo bought along their stone bake pizza oven to make gorgeous fresh pizzas which were popular with everyone there; a really nice bunch of people happy to chat with guests and let them have a go at creating their own. I’m sure for Caroline and Grant the day whizzed by in a flash, they looked so happy, laughing and chatting with friends and family. Thank you again for inviting me to be part of your day, I wish you every happiness in your marriage and may your love for one another be as healthy, organic and abundant as your magnificent veg patch!
