Ellie & Chris chose two beautiful venues for their wedding in Bath; St Michael’s Without in Bath City Centre and Summerhill Mansion which is part of Kingswood School in Lansdown, Bath. I met Ellie and her family at the Queensbury Hotel where preparations for the day had begun and the atmosphere was calm. I have to say, of all the dresses I’ve photographed over the years, Ellie’s really stood out. A stunning dress with spiral cascades of fabric, I thought it was beautiful and very unusual. Guests were on time and the church filled up quickly, St Micheal’s is such a light and airy church, great for photography. Ellie arrived in the couple’s bright orange VW camper van – if you couldn’t see it coming you could definitely hear it and it caused quite a stir amongst the public who stopped to watch the Bride’s arrival, camera phones in hand – what an entrance! The ceremony was wonderful with plenty of loving looks between the couple plus some time for a quick game of Jenga too! After that it was on to Summerhill Mansion, sadly not as sunny as the name suggests on that day but at least the rain held off just long enough for some photographs outside before guests had to run for cover. A receiving line welcomed guests into dinner where I left them to enjoy the rest of the day. Ellie & Chris, it’s been great getting to know you both through your wedding planning and I feel very honoured to have been a part of your wonderful day. Wishing you a very long and happy marriage together in your new home.
