Imogen and Jim planned the most lovely, casual, friendly local Bristol wedding and it was a privilege to shoot it for them. Theirs is a story of academic meeting academic, this couple both hold PhDs and seem to meet one another on an intelligence level far higher than most. This meant many of their friends also hold PhDs and I’m pretty sure I’ve not shot a wedding with such a high combined wedding guest IQ. Lighthearted conversation over the wedding breakfast was on the topics of neuroscience and palaeontology, leaving me fascinated but with little to add myself. I managed to turn the conversation to art, then I was well away! Anyway, aside from all these great minds in one room, the wedding was a brilliant celebration of the love between Imogen and Jim. A thoroughly genuine and deep bond between them was clear for all to see. Imogen’s speech praising her new husband was so romantic and had a few friends and family shed tears. The weather was brilliant which meant the boat ride from The Old Council House to The Pump House was a great success. Guests were welcomed with huge G&Ts on arrival at The Pump House and a very pleasant sunny afternoon in the garden there ensued. A wonderful vegan feast followed on after that then the Ceilidh band arrived; what guests lacked in elegant finesse they certainly made up for in enthusiasm, lets put it that way! Imogen’s striking red hair and royal blue dress combination was amazing, so different from the traditional bridal look. She looked fantastic, unique and the colourful bouquet really completed the look. Imogen and Jim may your life together be as cheerful as your colourful wedding day.

Great record of their day. I love a city wedding and one that includes a trip on a boot too is awesome!!
