Kelly and Ben booked me to be their wedding photographer at Hotel du Vin in Bristol quite a long time ago but it’s amazing how time flies and the big day arrived before i knew it. I’d met up with them earlier in the summer for this fun family shoot in Bristol but I knew the wedding was going to be quite different. The Hotel du Vin is a lovely venue and an especially cosy place to be in the winter but it is dark in there so i knew this low light wedding would be challenging to shoot. The day itself was a relaxed and friendly affair, no ‘first dance’, no ‘cutting of the cake’… it made a nice change actually. After a lovely ceremony we took a walk around Bristol for some very urban inspired couples shots, then it was on to the speeches before dinnner. The speeches highlighted the coming together of two worlds really – Kelly is from Newcastle and Ben is from Essex, so you can imagine the funny stories about these two getting together complete with some rather dodgy accent impersonations – yes, they did include the phrase “Why aye man!” I really enjoyed the day, especially the company of the very cute children of the family and I wish Kelly and Ben every happiness for the future.
Some of my favourite shots from the day are below:
I photographed Kelly and Ben’s Bristol Winter Wedding at the Hotel du Vin and offer modern, creative wedding photography in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas of the South West. To see more of my view it’s best to view my blog or take a look at my wedding portfolio.
