I met up with Paul and Louise at a park near their home for their fun pre-wedding shoot. Their wedding isn’t until next year but it’s nice to celebrate an engagement straight away with a portrait shoot. After nervously asking permission from Louise’s parents Paul proposed to Louise on the Great Wall of China – which would have been very romantic had his two mates not tagged along on that trip! (I can be cheeky – Paul is my little bro!) 😉 He used his Nan’s diamond and sapphire ring to propose which was a lovely sentimental idea. It’s great to document different stages of your relationship, I had a mini engagement shoot before I got married and I really value those pictures now. They show a snapshot of how we were then with all the excitement and anticipation of the wedding and looking far more beautiful and youthful than we do today! Life moves on so fast though and relationships change and grow, sometimes two become three… or four… or more! If any of my couples are hesitant as to whether an engagement shoot is for them I always say – 1) it doesn’t need to be as cheesy as you think, 2) it will help you feel less nervous infront of the camera on your wedding day and 3) Trust me, you will look back on the photos fondly in years to come. Much love to Paul and Louise, so glad you two have found each other and can’t wait for your wedding next year…. so hurry up with the planning!!
