I’ve known sisters Samantha and Clare for years – our Mums are friends and we grew up living next door to each other. When Sam invited me to photograph her young family in Gloucestershire I was delighted. I moved away from Gloucestershire years ago, hadn’t seen the girls in a long time, we’d each got on with our lives – university – career – marriage – kids. It was great to catch up and see all the changes that had happened for each of us. These two sisters ended up marrying two brothers and have three children between them with another on the way. They are truly lovely people and theirs is a very close family, always has been and I’m sure the children will benefit greatly from living near their cousins and grandparents. I often write about the importance of family relationships on blog posts like this but it’s because it’s true and I feel very privileged to be able to document those relationships in picture format for people. I thoroughly enjoyed this friendly shoot; Evie dancing to her favourite songs, Martha so alert and watching all that was going on, Max unsure of the camera and wondering why everyone was following him around trying to make him smile! Hope to see you all again, lets not leave it so long next time 🙂
