Katie & Chris’ wedding in Oxfordshire was one I’d been looking forward to photographing for a while. These two are such genuinely lovely people that when I met up with them for their pre-wedding shoot it really didn’t feel like work at all, we just had fun, hung out, chatted about allsorts and I took some photos along the way …so I felt sure their friends and family at the wedding would be equally as good company and I was right. I was also looking forward to this particular wedding as it involved a Chinese Tea Ceremony and I’d never seen one of those before, let alone photographed one so that was pretty interesting too. The other thing that made it extra lovely was the reception being held in a marquee at Katie’s Dad’s house – a wedding at home – how very special. These personal touches were weaved throughout the wedding plans – bouquets and buttons holes (for every single guest!) made at home, a towering homemade wedding cake, Katie’s Dad singing in the male voice choir at the church… I could go on. Traditional wedding elements were also present though; a very nervous bride, a mixed bag of English weather and speeches that thoroughly embarrassed the groom with photographic evidence of his love for Cristiano Ronaldo, dressing up and strange stories involving toilet roll (?) Ha, ha! Katie and Chris, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your big day, you truly deserve the greatest happiness in your marriage together and I wish you all the best for the future.
Here’s a few of my favourites from their big day but friends and family of Katie and Chris are invited to view the full gallery here.
