“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” – Ansel Adams
This moment was a special one to find. This is a mother and her daughter being silly and playing together at a Pythouse Kitchen Garden wedding whilst waiting for the food to be served. It instantly reminded me of my own childhood silliness and is such a sweet and innocent capture that really shows the strength of their relationship. The quote above is absolutely right – as a photographer everything you see and hear feeds into your photography in one way or another. I already knew this from studying Fine Art at degree and masters level. It’s how the creative brain works, amazing really, it stores all that inspiration then pulls it out when you least expect it.
