Maria and Nick received one of my Family Photo Shoot gift vouchers for Christmas and very wisely decided to wait for some warmer weather before booking in for it.  I met up with them and their young children to take some natural, relaxed, outdoor portraits in Surrey.  There really is a knack to photographing children, especially the younger ones who are more keen to play and explore than to sit still for photographs (who wants to sit down when you’ve only just learnt to walk!?)  I tend to try and build a bond with the kids and play alongside them, taking shots in between – of course this sometimes means racing a 3yr old on a scooter whilst carrying all my equipment in the midday sun but it’s all part of the job and it keeps me fit!  Sophia and Thomas were very well behaved actually and I’m pleased with the results I got, some of which you can see below.  Maria and Nick it was lovely to meet you both and your little family, I hope they enjoyed their well deserved ice creams at the end?
