I rarely (if ever?) do a personal blog post on my business website but here we go… this Wedding was a little different to others I’ve shot. I was the Wedding Photographer for my Mum’s Wedding at L’Ortolan on the Berkshire and Surrey boarder. An intimate affair with only 20 guests and a second marriage for both Kay and Brian. I felt very privileged to be trusted to record the event though I had to juggle the photography with also enjoying the wedding as a guest myself and keeping an eye on my young daughter who was bridesmaid that day (the cutest little bridesmaid ever, bias opinion of course.) Anyway, Kay and Brian have been together for over 14 years so it really was about time they got married and I don’t think it came as a surprise to anybody. Close family and life long friends were there, a few that even flew in from Hong Kong for the occasion and most of which had previously met over the years. It all added together to create a really lovely relaxed atmosphere. L’Ortolan is a Michelin starred restaurant with a wedding license so the whole event was held there and the food and weather were as great as the company which added up to a marvellous day all round. Obviously an extra special part of this wedding for me was seeing my own mother looking radiantly happy and enjoying her big day as a Bride aswell as formally welcoming Brian into our family; a wonderful man and an excellent match for my mum. Yes, I admit, I shot this wedding through tears of happiness 🙂
To two very special people in my life… I’m glad you finally got there in the end! I wish you continued happiness together into the Autumn of your lives… or should that be ‘winter’? Ha, ha! 😉
