I met up with Ellie and Chris one cold morning in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, to shoot their engagement photographs before I photograph their wedding in Bath this summer. That morning they arrived in their bright orange VW camper van (yes, it’s going to be part of the wedding and I can’t wait to shoot those pics!) and we walked around several locations in this lovely little town for their pre-wedding shoot. It’s a great time for me to get to know couples a bit more before their big day and we chatted about allsorts really – street dancing, cycling, the Bath half marathon, honeymoon plans and travels, house buying and more of the wedding details and logistics. I also like to explain a little about how I shoot, what I’m aiming for in the images and why I take people to the locations I do. I find this helps couples to understand where I’m coming from creatively and what things I’ll be looking for on their wedding day. I love it when a couple are clearly nervous at the beginning of the shoot (who actually likes having their photo taken??) but strutting their stuff more confidently than Kate Moss by the end… that’s what these sessions are about and I know I’ve done a good job when I see that change in people. You can learn to feel confident infront of a camera for sure. Anyway, enough chat – look as these fab images we created together:
