Paula contacted me to ask if I’d photograph her family event in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire.  It was her Mother’s birthday celebration and Paula and her family, her brother and his family plus their parents and auntie were all meeting up for a family meal together.  They wanted some relaxed reportage shots, a few family group shots and a portrait of the birthday girl before they sat down to lunch.  It was great fun and you could see how much her Mum enjoyed spending time with all the grandchildren.  I think it’s a good idea to hire a professional photographer for an hour or two to document family events like this, that way all family members can relax, not have to worry about taking photos themselves and everyone can actually be in the shots without needing a tripod and timer set up.  A few of my favourites from the day are below:
