Stephanie and Clive were married on New Year’s Eve at Holy Trinity Church in Bradford-on-Avon followed by a reception at St Margaret’s Hall nearby. I’ve known Stephanie for many years now and I mean it in the nicest possible way when I describe them as quite an eccentric couple. When she asked me to shoot her wedding I knew immediately it would be very different to the usual weddings I shoot. Sure enough, details of their plans followed which included an Orient Express theme running through the whole day, guests in 1920s fancy dress being transported through various countries in Europe via food, music and dance performances, a camper van named Florrie, no speeches as such, no confetti, no cake cutting and the day ending with a lovely ‘wave off’ from Bradford-on-Avon train station. Stephanie runs a Dance School in Bradford on Avon so she is well practiced at putting on performances and choreographing shows and it was obvious she would use these skills (and a few of her young dance students) to personalise her wedding day by including a dance performance between each course of the meal, performing a dance herself for her new husband and giving all wedding guests a dance lesson with hilarious results! This was a winter wedding that included two venues with little or no daylight so fairly challenging to shoot from my point of view but the 300 guests that attended the church ceremony are testament to this couple’s popularity and their wedding day was filled with love and joy which offered many beautiful moments to photograph. Stephanie and Clive it was a pleasure to be part of your special day, I wish you both every happiness as you waltz through the rest of your lives together…
Family and friends of Clive and Stephanie are invited to view the full set of wedding images here, for everyone else I’ve selected a few of my favourites from the day below:
